WELCOME TO THE STUDENT SENATE

Sunrise over Schreiner University

My Fellow Mountaineers,

It is with great excitement that I am able to greet you as we begin the 2011-2012 school year. Returning Mountaineers, I welcome you back home. Last year's accomplishments were great for our campus community. We can attest to community expansion in service, in academics, and in our student life. I am certain that our community will continue to thrive as we learn and grow together this year.

New Mountaineers, welcome to our community! You are embarking on an experience that will resonate with you throughout your days. Schreiner University will provide you an environment where you will learn, grow, and discern your calling in life. I am looking foreword to seeing how each of you will live out the Schreiner Promise and contribute to our campus.

I began last year as the Student Senate's acting president.  I am proud to return this year as your President, serving as the voice of the student population.  I know the “Student Voice” will help facilitate change and growth on our campus. Let's begin this year with the promise that the Student Senate will strive to better represent our student community.

The Student Senate is the largest organization on campus, primarily because every student has a voice in our community's affairs. It is your choice on whether to use your voice to benefit our community. The Senate will meet every Tuesday at 12:10 P.M. in the River Room, and all students are welcome to attend. Conflicting schedule? Feel free to contact me anytime about your aspirations for Schreiner. Make the choice to use your voice and give back to our community.

Grace and Peace,
William G. Keaton
Executive President
Schreiner University Student Senate
