Schreiner students have the opportunity to experience the “real-world” work-setting right here in our very own Kerrville community.

This opportunity is available through the Community Internship Program (C.I.P.), which is administered by the Career Services Office and annually supported by foundations and individual donors through the Development Office.  The program requires student applicants to have a minimum 2.25 cumulative grade point average, 2 letters of reference and they must be in good disciplinary standing.

The Community Internship Program offers two sessions, a summer session and an academic session. Compensation for the summer session includes: free University housing for the 10 week duration of the program and a $1,200 tuition grant that is applied to the fall term. Compensation for the academic session includes: a $1,000 tuition grant per fall and spring semester. Also, students are given the opportunity to learn and refine skills that will be marketable as they seek employment upon graduation.

Past internship sites: Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital, Hill Country Crisis Council, Mo-Ranch Assembly, Kerr County Juvenile Probation Department, K’ Star Emergency Youth Shelter, Doyle School Community Center, Hill Country Arts Foundation, American Red Cross, City of Kerrville
