Community Internship Program (CIP)

Academic Year 2009-2010 Requirements/Qualifications


Qualifications

 - Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA

 - At least 30 credit hours earned by May 2009

 - Good disciplinary standing

 - Own transportation


Application Process

 - Must register with Career Services through Jobs4Mountainers
 - Must upload resume onto Jobs4Mountaineers
 - Must submit application   Apply Online

 - Must submit two letters of recommendation; faculty, staff, or employer references


Participants will fulfill the following requirements

 - Attend a one-hour orientation session prior to beginning the program

 - Submit a professional resume

 - Complete the CIP Learning Contract

 - Volunteer a total of 120 hours (approximately 10 hours per week for 12 weeks) during the Fall term and 120 hours during the Spring term in an approved nonprofit organization in the Kerrville and surrounding areas

 - Submit bi-weekly time sheets

 - Write a short (3-page) paper about their internship experience

 - Write thank-you letters to donors and intern supervisor


Upon successful completion of the internship, participants will receive the following

 - $1000 tuition grant for the Fall term

 - $1000 tuition grant for the Spring term

 - Certificate of completion


Summer 2009 Requirements/Qualifications


Applications must be submitted to the Career Services Office by 5:00pm on Friday, February 13, 2009. Applications will be screened and selected by a committee.
